Basharat Bukhari meets people of shelling-affected areas | KNO

Minister for Revenue, Relief & Rehabilitation Syed Basharat Ahmed Bukhari Wednesday visited R S Pura and took stock of the arrangements put in place at the relief camps established for the people affected in cross border firing. Minister of State for Revenue, Relief & Rehabilitation Ajay Nanda, Divisional Commissioner Jammu Dr Pawan Kotwal and Deputy Commissioner Jammu Simrandeep Singh also accompanied the Minister during the visit. The Minister interacted with the affected people and enquired about the facilities being provided to them. He also assured them of all possible support from the government during this difficult situation in border areas. It was informed to the Minister that a total of 772 people including men, women and children from various border villages including Abdullian, Chandu Chak, Layian, Bega, Bera, Chouga, Gopar Basti and Joura Farm have been shifted at the camps established at ITI Campus and City Middle School R S Pura. Basharat Bukhari directed the camp incharge to remain available in the cmaps to redress the problems of the people and ensure provision of all basic amenities at these camps. The Minister asked SDM R S Pura to personally monitor the arrangements at the camps and ensure that the staff deputed here would be present to discharge their duties properly so that people don’t face any inconvenience. He also enquired about the status of relief to the owners of cattle killed and injured in border firing. Deputy Commissioner apprised the Minister about the relief amount being provided to them for the loss of their cattle as per SDRF norms.
